Tucson for Tamales

We go there regularly, but we do, admittedly, try to avoid going in June, July or August.  This time, mom's oncologist said there was only one more thing we could try. So we all got to Tucson in June, and my dear friend John offered up his amazing Tucson home for us to stay in.

Friends and family converged on Tucson to be with mom, only to find out that the last ditch new drug was actually working!  So it became a much more joyous occasion after all and more of a combination of school and family reunions combined into one big brisket, pulled pork, and crab boil extravaganza.

Lunch with cousin Maria, who was there for work, the Greek Restaurant, the zoo, The Van Gogh Experience, treks to antique stores with my aunt, an eastern European market, and daily swims or hikes rounded things out, along with lots of visits with mom for two weeks.  A good time was had by all, except Richard, who absolutely hates the heat.
